TJ Holmes Married?

Is TJ Holmes married? TJ Holmes married questions getting heat up as Holmes says goodbye to Betty Nguyen on Sunday.

On the Valentine’s Day, TJ Holmes twitters to Betty: “Happy Valentine’s Day! @bettynguyencnn and I have already been arguing about who should be more generous … men or women.”

He is divorced from ex wife Amy, once dated TLC’s Rozonda “Chili” Thomas, and is now engaged.

Holmes recently wrote about his encounters with racism on the AC360 site:

“I haven’t come in contact with a lot of blatant racism in my life. Yes, I’ve been called the N-word. To be honest, it never really upset me because as soon as that word comes out of someone’s mouth, I’m pretty sure that I’ve won the argument. That person has just confirmed how ignorant they are. I don’t necessarily consider most people racist. I have, however, seen a lot of racial bias. What I mean by that is people don’t hate me because of the color of my skin, but they simply don’t see me as an equal. Some may say that by not seeing me as an equal, that’s the very definition of racism. Rather, I believe people have so many misconceptions and preconceived notions about black people. They make assumptions based on the color of my skin.”

“One day a man came over to me as I was washing my truck and said, “Man, I just gotta know. What do you guys do to have nice cars like that?” He was a nice enough guy and wasn’t really nasty when he asked the question. He truly seemed puzzled about how a young, black man could be driving such a nice car. He went on to ask me if I played for the San Francisco 49ers. Again, I’m 5?11? and 165 lbs. No, I don’t play for the 49ers. The guy’s first thought at seeing a young, black man in a nice car was not that I could have gotten it through education and hard work. That is what I mean by bias.”

“Rhapsody in blue” is considered as one the greatest music piece in American classical music and it is most played piece of American classical music. For past 15 years several musicians and soloist like Michael Kim, Jeffery Siegel and Norman Krieger played “Rhapsody in blue” for Florida Orchestra.

This piece was originally composed by George Gershwin and played by him in 1924 premiere. Recently, Florida Orchestra has come up with an excellent and ambitious idea to present the original music created by Gershwin with the help of latest technology and acoustic science. Gershwin died in 1937. So his exact creation can not be featured again, but Florida Orchestra has taken the initiative to present closest approximation of his performance on stage now. According to George Letterst, the music technologist behind this idea, this on stage performance will be a rare posthumous appearance ofGeorge Gershwin.

Britain’s Carey Mulligan wins best actress at BAFTA

Britain’s up-and-coming star Carey Mulligan won the best actress category at the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs) Sunday in London, where Kathryn Bigelow scooped up the best film and best director awards for her Iraq war drama ‘The Hurt Locker’.

Mulligan, 24, took the prize for her lead role in the British-made film ‘An Education’, based on a novel by Nick Hornby on the adolescent life of journalist Lynn Barber.

In what was a true veteran versus newcomer contest, Mulligan beat competition in the best actress category from Meryl Streep for ‘Julie & Julia’ and Audrey Tatou for ‘Coco Before Chanel’.

Shaking with emotion, Mulligan said after winning the award: ‘I really didn’t expect this at all, so I didn’t think of anything to say. Thank you so much, BAFTA. I was here a year ago, and I didn’t imagine in a million years that this would happen’.

Bigelow said she was overwhelmed by the dual recognition of best film and best director for her war epic, as she became the first woman in BAFTA history to win the best director award.

She fought off competition including ex-husband James Cameron, whose sci-fi blockbuster ‘Avatar’ had also been nominated in both categories.

‘Avatar’ and ‘The Hurt Locker’ had eight nominations each for best film, as did ‘An Education’.

‘This is beyond our wildest dreams. This is so unbelievable, we’re just so deeply honoured and humbled,’ said Bigelow.

British actor Colin Firth won the best actor award for his part in ‘A Single Man’.

At the start of the ceremony at London’s Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Prince William, 27, was announced as the new president of BAFTA, taking over from veteran filmmaker Richard Attenborough.

James Cameron to write ‘Avatar’ prequel novel

After mesmerizing audiences with Avatar, James Cameron is set to wow fans as he puts pen to paper for an ‘Avatar’ prequel novel, producer Jon Landau has revealed.

Jon Landau told MTV News that the novel would be a prequel.

“Not a novelization – and there is a distinction. A novelization basically retells the story of the movie. Jim wants to write a novel that is a big epic that fills in a lot of things,” the New York Daily News quoted him, as saying.e added: “It would be something that would lead up to telling the story of the movie, but it would go into much more depth about all the stories that we didn’t have time to deal with – like the schoolhouse and Sigourney [Weaver's character] teaching at the schoolhouse; Jake on earth and his backstory and how he came here; [the death of] Tommy, Jake’s brother; and Colonel Quaritch, how he ended up there and all that.”

The book would be the Oscar-winning director’s debut on the printed page.

And according to Landau the novel will be out soon.

He said: “I’m hoping by the end of this year.” (ANI)
