Fess Parker, the Hollywood actor died yesterday . He was 85. The Disney classics Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone star died at his home in Santa Ynez Valley.

“Fess Parker has been a role model and idol of mine since I first saw him on the big screen — he is a true Hollywood legend,” said Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Governor of California and former Hollywood star in a statement.

Rose Mankos, a New York woman, was killed by a No. six train rushing towards seventy-seven street. Mankos, 48, was scrambling to get back on the platform when the train struck. She jumped on the tracks to grab a fallen gym bag that contained exercise clothes, toiletries and a cell phone.

Mankos lost her life trying to retrieve a nylon LeSportsac bag filled with exercise clothes, toiletries and her cellphone, sources said.
